In my research on military history I have scoured the web for sources including books and (the holy grail) primary sources, but also come across the research compiled by other enthusiasts. One such site is this: https://rodwargaming.wordpress.com/miltary-historical-research/organisation/napoleonic-infantry-battalion-structures/
Rod has clearly done a ton of research on warfare in and leading up to the Napoleonic wars. He demonstrates his understanding of this in his blog where he has synthesized it clearly into digestible bites on the subject matter. I believe his area of interest is more the campaigns of the British in this era, but he addresses the military of all the major powers. A worthy read for anyone interested in the subject.
Cheers.
