Summer & work distractions

The summer season warmth and a trip to Hawaii, plus a ton of work lately have choked off my posting recently, but despite this I’ve been able to make progress on organizing/ reorganizing many units.

Still a little ashamed to say that despite receiving them in October last year, I have not finished processing all of my bulk purchase of Hat Austrian German fusiliers off their sprus, glued on parts and organized into battalion bags yet.  Only 2 more battalions of these left to be cut off spru & bagged, but many battalions were bagged without all parts glued on, so still have work to do on them.

Made more progress on switching out the French command figures so that the French line, light & guard unit infantry figure colors now match that of the command figures.  Also used some of the Hat French carabiniers as grenadiers in a few French line infantry battalions (as several regiments grenadiers still wore the bearskins in 1809).  This has also allowed me to improve the composition of many French line battalions.

I know I keep talking about this but haven’t shown anything in a while, but I hope to get some units out to take pictures soon.  That said, I am spending a few weeks upstate spending time with my mom & sister, so it may be a while.

Cheers to a happy summer!

    1. My mounting plans remain in the early stage and completely unexecuted. However my vision is to mount them firmly on balsa or ridged plastic bases linked into battalions so each battalions can be moved at once. Since the soldiers will be on the ground (and I’m not bending over each time to move them), to do this standing up I’ll build a handled lever with slats to slide under the battalion bases to move them.
